We use the industry standard 283 Metro Survey Areas as defined by Arbitron, Incorporated®. Of course some stations are not located in an Arbitron Metro. In most cases that would mean your station is considered as not ranked, so you’ll enjoy the largest discount.

In some rare cases when a station city of license is not officially listed in the Arbitron Survey but your station is obviously in a ranked ADI (Area of Dominant Influence) we may need to adjust the rate to the nearest ranked broadcast market.

Here is the breakdown of market groups:

  • “Major Market” Market numbers 1-20
  • “Large Market” Market numbers 21-50
  • “Medium Market” Market numbers 51-150
  • “Small Market” Market numbers 151-283

Another category is “all other” or markets which fall below the 283rd listing.
